Badam Milk Diwali Recipe

Running late for your celebrations? Or you just want something that’s quick but will still surely be the best taste that you can have? This Badam Milk Diwali Recipe is delicious, healthy and aromatic. All in less than 1 hour!

Ingredients

  • 500 ml or 2 cups whole milk or 2 sachets of KERRYGOLD FULL CREAM POWDERED MILK 255G 
  • 2 tbsp. sugar green cardamom powder (from seeds of 4 pods) 
  • pinch of kesar or saffron 
  • 20 almonds 


Instructions

  1. Soak almonds in hot water for 30 minutes and then peel the skin off. 
  2. Set a pot on medium heat and add milk.
  3. Stir consistently and until the milk boils.
  4. Take 4 to 5 tbsp. of the boiling milk and add it to a grinder jar along with all the peeled almonds. 
  5. Let the almonds soak for 2 to 3 minutes in the milk.
  6. Keep stirring the milk for 5 to 6 minutes or until it gets reduced to approximately 80% of its original volume.
  7. Turn down the heat and add saffron, cardamom powder and sugar.
  8. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
  9. Make a fine paste of the almonds along with the milk that it was soaked in.
  10. Add the almond paste and stir it in.
  11. Cook for another 10 minutes or until the badam milk turns slightly creamy.
  12. You have have badam milk warm or you can chill it in the refrigerator before serving.
  13. Garnish with some kesar, sliced almonds, and sliced pistachios!
